WILMINGTON — Former president Donald Trump’s campaign event at Aero Center Wilmington was canceled Saturday evening due to a severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service.

In an audio announcement through speakers, the former president called in to express disappointment but emphasized the importance of keeping attendees safe.
“We’ll do it again and we’ll do it bigger and better,” Trump said. “And you have my promise, same location. And thank you all very much.”
Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign occurs alongside an ongoing hush money trial in New York City; he is set to give opening statements in court on Monday.
