
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Ahead of Veteran’s Day next week, New Hanover County will show a documentary and panel discussion with local officials.
The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners is partnering with New Hanover County to show “The Veteran’s Battlefield,” a documentary from NCACC”s 100 Strong Productions.
The film will be played Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. at Thalian Hall, 310 Chestnut St. and explores veterans’ challenges in North Carolina. It also highlights how counties and residents can best support the veteran population.
New Hanover County commissioners and local stakeholders and veterans organizations will be at the event to distribute information and host community discussions surrounding veterans services and support.
According to the Veterans Battlefield website, North Carolina has the eighth largest population in the U.S. with more than 700,000 veterans.
The showing and following discussion are free and open to the public, though registration is required here. Doors open at 5 p.m.
