
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Registration is open now for a golf tournament hosted by county firefighters.
The New Hanover County Professional Firefighters Association Local 4576 is holding a tournament at Beau Rivage Golf and Resort, 649 Rivage Promenade in Wilmington, Nov. 12. Proceeds will benefit the Chris Johnson Memorial Relief Fund, a nonprofit that provides support to firefighters facing mental wellness challenges and financial burdens during personal and professional hardships.
Registration is limited to 120 players; lunch will be provided. The tournament kicks off at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Sponsorships are available at varying levels:
- Deputy Chief: $3,000, includes two foursomes
- Battalion Chief: $2,000, includes one foursome
- Captain: $1,000, includes round for one player
- Firefighter: $500, includes recognition at the tournament
- Probationary: raffle prizes to contribute to awards for best teams, closest to pin, longest drive, and putting contests
Tax-deductible donations can also be made to the Chris Johnson Memorial Relief Fund.
