SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government meetings around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, we’ll include that below the listed meeting, too.

Monday, June 26

The UNCW Board of Trustees will hold a special called meeting, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Alderman Hall room 215 on UNCW’s campus. Most if not all members will participate by electronic connection. An agenda was not posted by press.

The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold an agenda review meeting at 2 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 15th St. Meetings can be livestreamed here. The agenda can be viewed here.

The Belville Town Council will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 63 River Road. An agenda was not available by press.

Tuesday, June 27

The Wilmington Housing Authority Community Outreach and Resident Services Committee will meet at 3 p.m. at Solomon Towers, 15 Castle St.

The New Hanover County Board of Adjustment will meet at 5 p.m. at 230 Government Center Drive. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Carolina Beach Town Council will hold a workshop at 9 a.m. in council chambers, at town hall, 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd. Meetings are live streamed here. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Town of Leland Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. at Leland Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. The meeting will be live-streamed. 

An item on the agenda includes:

  • The annexation of property along U.S. Highway 17, between Gregory Road NE and Grandiflora Drive.

Wednesday, June 28

The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board will meet at 3 p.m. on the sixth floor of 320 Chestnut St. The meeting can be livestreamed on Zoom. A few items on the agenda include:

  • A presentation from Hardesty and Hanover on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge shared-use concept. Read PCD coverage here.
  • Discussion about prioritization project submittals for NCDOT’s long-range plan. Read more here.
  • A discussion about the Military Cutoff/Eastwood Road interchange project

The North Topsail Beach Board of Adjustment will meet at 5:30 p.m. at town hall, 2008 Loggerhead Court. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Oak Island Planning Board will meet at 9 a.m. at town hall 4601 E. Oak Island Drive. Meetings are live streamed here. The only thing on the agenda is to review the town’s table of uses on supplemental regulations.

The Southport Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. in the Southport Community Building located at 223 E. Bay St. The public is invited to join the board to learn more about and discuss conditional zoning. The public will be allowed to make comments and ask questions. Meetings can be livestreamed here.

The Brunswick Shoreline Protection Consortium will meet at 10 a.m. in the second floor training room of the David Sandifer Administration Building County Government Center, 30 Government Center Drive, Bolivia. The agenda includes:

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers update 
  • Legislative update from Rep. Frank Iler
  • Offshore windfarm discussion

The Leland Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. The agenda includes a presentation from public services director Rober Miller, as well as the swearing-in of reappointed members.

Thursday, June 29

The Wilmington Housing Authority Finance and Development Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the WHA main office, 1524 16th St.
