Andrew Robinson put the home side on the board off an assist from Tanner Gallen just seven minutes into the match and Hoggard never looked back en route to a 4-1 result against Laney.
Robinson tallied his second score with a strike in the 13th minute to give the Vikings a 2-0 advantage. The Bucs had one big surge during the opening half of play as a Brandon Rollins shot rang off the crossbar and rebound was saved by Hoggard goal keeper Matthew Moore.
The momentum was short lived for Laney when Cesar Cruz seized control of the match with a score on an assist from Robinson to put the home side in front by three just before the break.
Cruz notched his second tally in the second half as Hoggard improved to 2-0 in conference and 6-2 overall. Tristan Nelson scored Laney’s lone goal late in the match, but it was too little to late as Laney dropped its second consecutive match inside league play, falling to 1-2 in conference and 4-4-2 on the year.

Nine different players tallied for New Hanover in a 9-0 win over West Brunswick at Legion Stadium.
Goals by the Wildcats were scored by Declan Payne, John Hewlett, Robert Franck, Cameron Right, Coleman Williams, Ross Hibbert, Moss Lewis and Jessie Wyatt. New Hanover grabbed its first win inside the division to move to 1-1 in conference and 7-3 overall.
Ashley 3 South Brunswick 0
Josh Chapman, Jonathan Gainer and Cole Healy scored goals for Ashley in a 3-0 shutout at South Brunswick. Evan Alvarez had two saves to earn the clean sheet.
The Screaming Eagles are now riding a four game winning streak at 3-0 atop the conference and 5-2-1 overall.
Coastal Christian 9 Harrells Christian 0
The Centurions dominated from the opening kick as Coastal Christian cruised to a 9-0 shutout in conference play against Harrells Christian.
Gibbs Kramer put his side on the board off an assist from Jake Hahn in the 10th minute, while Walker Henderson, Douglas McKinney and Tommy Murphy all found the back of the net by the midway point of the first half to make it a 4-0 lead.
Roberto Gonzalez notched a score at the 30 minute mark on an assist from Ian Boyd to make it a five-goal advantage at the break. Gonzalez and Henderson notched two goals in the match for the Centurions, who improved to 11-2-1 overall.
Cape Fear Academy 5 Parrott Academy 1
Jackson Miller and Zach Tomosunas both tallied twice to guide Cape Fear Academy in a 5-1 win at home over Parrott Academy. Bennett Dahl had a pair of assists for the Hurricanes, who moved to 5-0 in conference and 11-3 overall.

Hoggard remains in control of the division following a straight set sweep against Laney on Tuesday. The Vikings earned a bounce back victory after dropping a non-conference match the day prior at home against Wilmington Christian Academy.
Camille Whitlock and Samantha Shuffler paced the passing game with 16 assists each for Hoggard. Madie Schider had 18 digs at libero, while Isabella Garrison and Julianna Askew combined for 15 kills.
Laney fell to 3-3 in league play and 6-4 overall. Hoggard (10-5 overall) remains the team to beat at 6-0 inside the conference standings as the three-time defending league champions and 44 match win streak within the division.

Julia Rhine and Alyssa Gowdy combined for 27 kills as New Hanover rallied after dropping the opening set to pick up a 3-1 road win at West Brunswick. Courtney Loughran served five aces, recorded 37 assists and 14 digs for the Wildcats. New Hanover is 3-3 in conference and 7-4 overall.

North Brunswick served seven aces in the match and rallied from down two-games-to-one to force a decisive fifth set, but Dixon outlasted the Scorpions 15-13 in the final set to grab the conference win.
