Hoggard 2 New Hanover 1
Both teams evenly shared possession in a closely played contest at Legion Stadium on Thursday night as Hoggard rallied from a one-goal deficit to pick up a 2-1 result over New Hanover.

With the match deadlocked heading into the second half, the Wildcats went in front in the 46th minute, but the lead didn’t last long. Cesar Cruz and Tanner Gallen both found the back of the net two minutes after the New Hanover goal and within 90 seconds of each other to grab victory.
Matthew Moore made seven saves to preserve the win, including a stop in the 51st minute after the Wildcats were issued a penalty kick.
Hoggard remains unbeaten atop the division standings at 5-0 in league play and 8-3-3 overall. New Hanover fell to 2-3 in conference and 10-6-1 on the year.

After dropping the opening set, 23-25, Topsail stormed back to win three straight as the Pirates defeated West Brunswick 3-1 in a key matchup between the top two 3A programs in the split Mideastern Conference.

Payton Shoenleber recorded a triple-double with 10 points, 11 kills and 13 assists, while Angelica Biele and Marlee Marrotta each had a double-double in the result. Topsail moved to 6-3 in league play and took possession of second place in the division after beginning the second half of their conference schedule on Thursday.
The Pirates have now won four straight matches. West Brunswick fell to 3-6 in the division and 7-7 on the year.
On top of the 16 points and 21 digs by Marrotta, the senior libero put in a strong effort from the service line with eight aces. Biele added 13 assists and 10 digs, while Victora Elder had four blocks.

South Brunswick took a five set victory from Laney on Thursday night as Kimmie Williams finished with eight kills and four aces in the result.
Abby McEnaney contributed in the passing game with 20 assists, while Brooke DeMonbreun recorded four blocks at net. Calylen Folmar also had an all-around effort for the Cougars, who moved to 3-6 in conference.
The Bucs fell to 3-5 in league play and 10-7 on the year. Skyler Curran finished with a team-high eight kills. Sarah Jonkheer added four blocks and Alex Erling had 30 assists.

Aliah Johnson and Claire Longshore each had 16 assists as North Brunswick outlasted Croatan 3-2 on Thursday. Three different players recorded double-digit kills in the result. Valerie Renna led all hitters with 16, while Tasia Bolling and Unique Hines recorded 10 apiece.

Ashley won their fourth straight match after rallying from two sets down to pick up a 3-2 win over Coastal Christian. The Screaming Eagles improved to 8-6 overall.
Shandall Menezes had 13 kills and Hope Mason served eight aces in the result. Mason also added 16 digs, while Taylor Butts recorded 18 digs. Katherine Boudreau and Samantha Luscher contributed with eight kills apiece.
Sam Stanko had a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs for Coastal Christian. Caroline Mansfield dug up 15 balls and had 4 aces, while Anna Grace Holdford had 26 assists.
