Hoggard 13 Holly Springs 10
Trailing by four after three quarters of play, Hoggard rallied in the final 12 minutes as Bryant Sasser hit Collin Hairr with 6:36 to go for the game-winning touchdown as the Vikings picked up a 13-10 win over Holly Springs on Friday night.

In a contest delayed at halftime because of lightning, Yavel Morris took the opening kickoff 82 yards to start the third quarter to give the Golden Hawks a 10-6 advantage before Hoggard staged the fourth quarter comeback.
Holly Springs used a 40-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead with 6:43 left in the first quarter, but the Vikings answered midway through the second period as Sasser hit Patrick Morrison on a four-yard touchdown pass to cap off a 12-play, 80-yard drive.
Following the strike from Sasser to Hairr, Carson Whitaker intercepted Holly Springs on their final possession to secure the victory.
Hoggard moved to 1-0 under new head coach Craig Underwood and travels to Fayetteville on Friday, Aug. 28 for a date with Seventy-First.

New Hanover used a balanced offensive attack on Friday night as the Wildcats put up 410 total yards in a 48-26 road win over Hoke County.

Burke Estes went 12-of-19 for 165 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, while University of Georgia commit Garrett Walston made six catches for 107 yards and one touchdown in the result.
On the ground, Keegan Santos found the end zone twice in the first half and finished with 98 yards on 14 carries, while Trequan Age finished an all-around effort with six rushes and two catches for a combined 70 yards and one score.
New Hanover had two offensive touchdowns in the first quarter and the Wildcats’ defense got on the board with a scoop and score to take a 27-6 lead at halftime.
Two costly turnovers in the third quarter helped Hoke County pull within eight at 34-26, but Wiz Vaughn set up the next scoring play for New Hanover with a big kickoff return as Estes hit Trequan Age for the score.
Vaughn also had one reception, four rushes and one touchdown for 54 yards, while Lamont Howard made three catches for 19 yards.
New Hanover improved to 1-0 on the year and play Socastee (South Carolina) in the annual Carolinas Kickoff Clash in Myrtle Beach on Friday, Aug. 28.
