Got talent?
If so, Wilmington Central Rotary wants to see it.
The local non-profit community outreach organization is now seeking entrants for its fourth annual hometown variety show-style competition.
This year’s Wilmington’s Got Talent event is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, at Thalian Hall.
“Wilmington Central Rotary is excited to bring back Wilmington’s Got Talent this year as we feature the many wonderfully talented people and undiscovered entertainers in this city. It’s going to be a lot of fun for all involved,” Louise McColl, Wilmington Central Rotary event chairwoman, said.
Amateur-only performers of all sorts–singers, dancers, musicians and magicians, among them–and all ages are invited to enter. The deadline to apply is Saturday, Sept. 10.
Participants must live in New Hanover, Pender or Brunswick counties and must be able to participate in a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Last year’s show featured 12 local acts and raised $18,000 for the She Rocks Foundation to support ovarian cancer research and New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Zimmer Cancer Center to assist patients during treatment.
The recipient of this year’s proceeds is to be determined.
In addition to seeking participants, Wilmington Central Rotary is also looking for event sponsor.
To apply as a performer, request sponsorship information or purchase tickets, email McColl, mccoll18@bellsouth.net, or call (910) 350-1211.
