There was limited action across the high school schedule Friday night as the wet weather came into the area at around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, postponing all games in New Hanover and Brunswick Counties. The Ashley High School Track Invitational scheduled for Saturday has also been moved to April 12.

The Lady Bucs bounced back from a setback earlier this week with a 5-0 win against Topsail on Friday. Anna Rae Porcelli put in two goals in the results and Sydney Young made two stops.
Laney moved to 3-1 in conference and 4-2-2 overall. The Bucs have a big test Tuesday, April 1, against unbeaten Hoggard.
Girls lacrosse
Hoggard 16 New Bern 2 (girls)
Taylar Herman recorded four goals and three assists as Hoggard cruised to a 16-2 win over New Bern on Friday.
Julia Buehler added three scores and Kendall Goldblum tallied twice for the Vikings, who had 10 different goal scorers on the night. Abbey Browns had three saves in net, while Lindsey Yelton and Emma Hall added three assists.
Hoggard moved to 6-0 overall and remain 3-0 atop the Mideastern Conference heading into Tuesday’s match at Jacksonville.

Kyra Holmes led the top of the order with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored, while Taylor Rivenburgh had a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate in a 17-2 win for Trask on Friday. Desire Brown and Kelly Roughton both had multi-hit games and Roughton picked up the victory in the circle.
The Lady Titans are 4-0 in conference and 6-2 overall.
