Cape Fear Museum is looking for volunteers who will help inspire visitors to explore the history and science of the Lower Cape Fear region.

A release from the museum lists the following opportunities:
- Field trip docents: For those who enjoy science and how things work. The museum offers a number of hands-on, curriculum-linked programs for elementary and middle school grades. Volunteers are needed to serve as docents, or program facilitators, for science-related programs, including “Simple Machines,” “Forces and Motion” and “Electricity and Magnetism” field trips.
- Family programs: Volunteers are needed to facilitate science and history carts, stationed throughout the museum, where general visitors explore artifacts, conduct experiments and play games. Times, activities and locations vary.
- Museum store: Volunteers are needed for the store, stocked with an assortment of adult and children’s history books, educational toys, North Carolina pottery, jewelry and more. Shifts needed: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 1- 4 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.
