T.J. Williams had a big night for the Eagles with 18 points in 50-49 win over Rose in their Mideastern Conference opener on Friday. Ridell Camidge knocked down two balls from behind the arc and finished with 16 points.
Ashley (10-3, 1-0) is back in action at home on Friday, Jan. 11, against New Hanover.

After pulling out a big win over North Brunswick, the Trojans had to play much of Friday’s game without one of its top scorers. Grey Cheers left just a few minutes into the second quarter with an apparent broken nose and did not return. Coach Eric Davis hopes to have the sophomore back by early next week.
West Brunswick dropped its first conference game of the year (2-1) and fell to 5-6 overall. The Trojans are home against East Bladen on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

North Brunswick 67 Whiteville 58
North Brunswick snapped a four-game losing streak and picked up their first win in conference (1-1) 67-58 over Whiteville. The game had to be stopped midway through the contest after an irate crowd turned hostile. Law enforcement officials had to escort fans out of the gym after someone through a bottle onto the court. The game was held up for more than 15 minutes and was eventually finished inside an empty gym in Leland.
The Scorpions (7-5) travel over the river on Tuesday, Jan. 8, for a date with Hoggard.
East Bladen 65 South Brunswick 45
The Cougars struggles continue this season as South Brunswick fell to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in conference with Friday night’s loss.
South Brunswick entertains South Columbus on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

After winning last week’s Leon Brogden Holiday Tournament, the Lady Eagles picked up right where they left off Friday with a 59-25 win over Rose. Felecity Havens had a game-high 24 points. Breanna Edwards added 15 points in the win.

North Brunswick dropped its first game in conference 58-31 to Whiteville. Tiffany Keaton led the Lady Scorps with eight points, five rebounds and two steals.
North Brunswick travels to Hoggard on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

South Lenoir 44 Topsail 27
The Lady Pirates dropped their second game this week and fell to 0-2 in conference. Heather West scored 16 points for S. Lenoir and Victoria Riley led Topsail with 12 points.
Topsail (5-6) travels to Clinton on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Trask 47 Wallace-Rose Hill 27
The Lady Titans are 2-1 in league play after a 47-27 win on the road at Wallace-Rose Friday night. Shawntia Green led all scorers with nine points while Kate Friesen scored eight points. Ceandria Murphy also had seven points, eight rebounds and three blocks. With the win, Trask moved its overall record above the .500 mark to 7-6 on the year.
Trask is back on the road Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Hobbton.

The Lady Centurions enjoyed their best offensive effort of the year, shooting over 50 percent from the floor in a 68-50 win in Fayetteville. Three different players scored in double figures for Coastal. Lauren Duncan had a game-high 20 points and six assists. Niki Huntley added 15 points and four assists and Annie Marsh scored 16 points.
Coastal Christian (8-5) is at home Monday, Jan. 7, against East Carteret.

Wilmington Christian 37 Faith Christian 30
Meredith Bunn puts in 14 points for the Lady Patriots in a 37-30 win over Faith on Friday. Jensen Attoe put in eight points and Abby Squires added six points for WCA.
The Lady Patriots (2-12) picked up their first win in league play this season (1-2). WCA is at home against Cape Fear Academy on Monday, Jan. 7.
