Leon Bridges returns to Wilmington summer 2027

WILMINGTON — Returning to Live Oak Bank Pavilion, Leon Bridges is stopping over in downtown Wilmington in July 2027.

An artist presale is in effect on Oct. 13, followed by Live Nation’s presale on Oct. 14 and the general public on Oct. 15 here. Bridges “Happiness Anytime Tour” that kicks off in April in Las Vegas, and continues through next fall, stopping in Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Denver and Charlotte. He performs in Wilmington’s Riverfront Park on Wednesday, July 21.

Bridges hit the scene in 2015 with his debut album “Coming Home,” which struck gold. Tracks like “Smooth Sailin’” and “River” captivated listeners. The Georgia musician straddles a variety of sounds, from Americana to R&B to soul, and has cited influences from Ginuwine to Townes Van Zandt.

Bridges has received a Grammy nomination in 2016 for Best R&B Album and Best Music Video for “River.” In 2019, he followed up with “Good Thing,” nominated for Best Album, though he won for Best Traditional R&B Performance with “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand.”

Since, Bridges has released “Gold-Diggers Sound” and “Leon,” followed by “Happiness Anytime” released this year. The latest album charted 74 in the United States.
