WILMINGTON — The Wilma W. Daniels Gallery at Cape Fear Community College is collaborating with the Cameron Art Museum (CAM) to present a lecture on the entities’ collaborative exhibition, “Sense of Place.” It’s on display until Oct. 9 and features pieces from CAM’s permanent collection done by Wilmington-based artists and celebrates the artistic styles of Southeastern North Carolina.
However, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, Ben Billingsley, curator of exhibitions and collections at CAM and visual arts instructor at CFCC, will deliver a lecture from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wilma W. Daniels Gallery on CFCC’s Downtown Campus.
“This collaborative satellite exhibition invites visitors to explore the people, places, and perspectives that continue to define the cultural character of the Cape Fear region,” Billingsley said in a release about the exhibition.
It’s free and open to the public and the exhibition — showcasing works from regional artists like Elisabeth Chant, Claude Howell, Pam Toll, and Dick Roberts — is open to view during the lecture.
