SOUTHPORT — Duke Energy will host a free screening of the family film “IF” at the Brunswick Energy & Education Center in Southport later this month.
The movie will begin on Friday, Aug. 21, 6 p.m. at 8520 River Road SE. The event is free and open to the public, as the PG-rated movie follows a girl who discovers imaginary friends left behind as children grow older. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski and Cailey Fleming.
Doors will open before the screening for self-guided tours of the center’s exhibits about energy, the environment and the Brunswick Nuclear Plant. Concessions will be provided by the plant’s chapter of North American Young Generation in Nuclear.
The event will conclude the center’s inaugural Discovery Days season.
