WILMINGTON — A sold-out show at Live Oak Bank Pavilion on Aug. 15 kept the crowds dancing to Red Clay Strays and Wilder Woods.

Woods opened the show; the American singer-songwriter and guitarist who also helped found Needtobreathe. He went solo in 2019 and has released three albums to date, including 2025’s “CURIOSO.”

Red Clay Strays are no stranger to Wilmington, having performed at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater last year and downtown’s Bourgie Nights before that. The Alabama-born band blends Southern soul with rock-and-roll and last year they opened for the Rolling Stones in Boston as part of their Hackney Diamonds tour.

They broke through with the viral stream of “Wondering Why” in 2023 and entered Billboard’s Hot 100 landing at 93. They released “Made By These Moments” in 2024, with the song “Wanna Be Loved” breaking the US Country charts at 27 and US rock charts at 18.

The group also had the song “Caddo County” featured on 2024’s soundtrack for the motion picture “Twisters.”
