Halligan’s Public House closes after nine years, new spot to take its place

A new restaurant will soon take the place of the former Halligan's Public House at The Courtyard at Masonboro shopping center.

WILMINGTON — After nine years in business, Halligan’s Public House has permanently closed.

The former restaurant’s business sign is now down, with a note posted on the front door to alert customers the location is closed for renovations and will reopen soon.

A new restaurant, Courtyard Grill, will soon take its place at The Courtyard at Masonboro shopping center.

The new owner of Courtyard Grill, Mike Davis, said renovations at the location are currently underway. Davis is putting a menu together for the new restaurant but said it is not set in stone.

Halligan’s Public House opened in 2010 at The Courtyard at Masonboro. Its owners, BT Corrigan and Randall Willard, also own Sienna Trattoria next door at The Courtyard at Masonboro and the Tavern on 17th at Barclay Commons. Corrigan or Willard could not be immediately reached for comment.
