
WILMINGTON — It’s the end of an era in Wilmington as a long-standing restaurant and local favorite closes its doors — Sahara Pitas-Subs will say goodbye to the Port City later this month.
According to Facebook post from the restaurant, after 37-years the owner of the store has decided to retire.
“We will be CLOSING our doors soon for good!! THANKS FOR 37 YEARS. The owner(Edwin) is retiring!! He had an opportunity so he took it (which I’m happy) 20 years of Saharas for me has been great but I’m ready for a new adventure!! Thanks to all my family and friends, ALL employees and all the loyal customers!! We definitely will be open this week and next week but not sure after that, so come get a sandwich and a hug from me!! CLOSING SOON!! THANKS FOR 37 WONDERFUL YEARS FROM EDWIN!!” the Facebook post reads.
There is still time to get your favorite foods from them.
According to a followup response, the Market Street location will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday – Saturday, Monday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., and Tuesday – Saturday of the following week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
