CAROLINA BEACH — Though The Squeeze-In has closed, Carolina Beach will soon have a new steakhouse on Lake Park Boulevard.
Lake Park Steakhouse now has the keys to the building, where The Squeeze-In Steak & Seafood restaurant opened for a short, four-month stint this summer.

The Squeeze-In closed in early September, and Lake Park Steakhouse plans to re-open with a new menu by the first week of November.
“We’re going to clean it out and simplify it a little bit more,” the new owner, Ron Stevens, said.
Lake Park Steakhouse will be the third Carolina Beach restaurant venture for Stevens and his wife, Noël. The pair own and operate HopLite Irish Pub and Restaurant, also on Lake Park Boulevard, and previously owned Island Hots on Cape Fear Boulevard.
Though The Squeeze-In closed, Ron Stevens said he believes both locals and tourists want a place to stop in for a nice steak.
“We’re sticking with the steakhouse,” he said.
Lake Park Steakhouse’s new menu includes a grilled ribeye, filet mignon, sirloin, a New York strip, prime rib, and a bone-in pork chop. The restaurant will also offer a variety of salad options to choose from.
“It’ll be like sending somebody up to the salad bar for you,” Stevens said.
Stevens said cocktails and only top-shelf liquors will be available on the drink menu. “You’re not going to just get a junky rum and coke,” he said.
With the most expensive menu item, the filet mignon, at $28, Stevens said Lake Park Steakhouse will be a step up from a typical dining experience, but not as expensive as some other restaurants.
“It’s going to be nice dining, not fine dining,” he said.
