WILMINGTON —Tidewater Brewery is well on its way to completion. Owners hope to become a mainstay of the Soda Pop District in Wilmington.
There are several craft breweries around Wilmington already, but what makes Tidewater Brewery unique is that everyday people can say they are partial owners. For a price, anyone who is interested can buy ownership shares, which come with some added benefits.
Ethan Hall, one of the founding owners of Tidewater, said ownership shares have steadily increased since they first became available for purchase, but he is always looking for more.

The project has been labor intensive; in March, when Port City Daily first got a look inside the warehouse, it was nothing more than dirt floors and brick walls. Now, it is unrecognizable.
Flooring and walls have been installed, and 12 new windows, measuring 4 feet wide and 6 feet tall have been cut in the brick facade.
The wood for the floors is reclaimed locally, Hall said.

Hall said he is hoping for a July opening. Port City Daily will have updates on Tidewater’s progress and opening date.
