WILMINGTON—Rise Biscuits Donuts will celebrate “National Donut Day” by giving back to the community. The Wilmington location of the Durham-bred company will donate 100 percent of profits from the chocolate icing doughnut to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
Rise CEO Tom Ferguson said, “We celebrate the donut every day at Rise so we wanted to take the opportunity to help our local food banks feed those in need on National Donut Day.”
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for more than 35 years.
The fundraiser will take place Friday, June 1. Rise Wilmington is located at 1319 Military Cutoff Road in the Landfall Shopping Center and is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
