WILMINGTON — Gerald R. Alford, 88, of Wilmington, NC passed away on October 13, 2026.
He was born on April 25, 1938, in Robeson County, NC son to Hal Alford and Miriam Mercer Alford. He is also preceded in death by his aunt Ruth Alford.
He was a draftsman for GE and retired 23 years ago. His favorite thing to do was sleep, He loved the NY Yankees, and he loved and care for my mother until the day she died. He was always fair with people and always did the right thing.
He is survived by his son, Greg; daughter-in-law, Reigne; granddaughter; Megan and several cousins including Stephan, Tony and Shelia.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday October 20, 2026, at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A Funeral Service will start at 2:00 PM in the Coble Chapel with Pastor Daniel Cook officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St Jude.
