WILMINGTON — Lisa Stephens McGee, born on February 6, 1967, in Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 59. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Lisa touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Lisa was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her love for her family and her commitment to helping others. She graduated from The University of Mount Olive with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, which she utilized in her career as a Financial Manager for Pender Adult Services. Her professional accomplishments were numerous, but it was her personal life that brought her the greatest joy.
Lisa cherished spending time with her family, especially during trips to Myrtle Beach and San Antonio. She loved being on her boat, surrounded by the laughter and joy of her grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of her life, from the way she cared for her husband, Troy McGee, to the thoughtful gestures she extended to those around her—such as always having a Tide pen handy for life’s little mishaps.
Preceded in death by her father, Don Stephens, and her mother, Peggy Allman (Hardy), Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her beloved husband, Troy McGee; her daughters, Morgan Luevanos (Jorge) and their children, Jaden McGee and Maximas Luevanos, and Danielle Larson and her children, Rosalie and Gabrielle Larson. She is also survived by her brothers, Rick Stephens (Donna) and Ken Stephens, her sister, Donna Southers, and extended family members Bob McGee (Teresa), Rob McGee (Jenny), Renee McGee, Eve McGee, along with many nieces and nephews.
Lisa’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel. Her family invites all who knew her to join them in remembering a woman whose life was a testament to love, care, and generosity.
Lisa Stephens McGee will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
