WILMINGTON — Shirley Ann Jarman Moore 78, of Wilmington and Brunswick, NC passed on Thursday, July 30, 2026 in New Hanover Novant Medical Center, Wilmington. She was born November 6, 1947 in Columbus County, the daughter of the late Hampton Jarman and Lena Blackman Jarman.
Shirley was formerly an operator with Bell South in their central office. She was president of Local 3615 and town commissioner of Brunswick, NC. She operated Country Anytime in Brunswick.
She is survived by a son, James Christopher Moore, Jr. of Wilmington; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca S. Moore of Wilmington; two daughters, Tiffany Ann Moore and Jennifer Ann Moore both of Wilmington; two sisters, Phillis Jarman Jones of Mooresville and Betty Jarman Lewis and husband, Marsden of Whiteville; grandchildren, Alexa Moore and Leveta Moore.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, August 6, 2026 at Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park Mausoleum with Mayor Jason Elleby officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
A Celebration Of Life will be held 5:00 – 8:00pm August 6, 2026 at The Town of Brunswick Town Hall, 40 Poplar St., Brunswick, NC 28424 and the home of Shirley Moore 4710 Salix Dr., Wilmington, NC 28412 Friday, August 7, 2026 at 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
