WILMINGTON — Denise Hines Hawkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered into the Arms of Jesus her Savior peacefully on July 7, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 61. Born on March 20, 1965, in Wilmington, Denise spent her entire life in the community that she loved dearly.
A graduate of Hoggard High School, Denise was a vibrant and compassionate soul who made an indelible impact on everyone she met. She was a devoted member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church, where her faith in God was a guiding light in her life. Her favorite hymn, is “It is Well with my Soul”. Denise served in the Medical and Dental field for over 44 years. Most recently her career was in Clinical Research.
Denise was preceded in death by her loving parents, Grover C. Hines and Wanda Truttman Hines, as well as her brother Richard Hines.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Timothy Hawkins; her cherished twin sons, Anthony Hawkins and his wife Ashley, and Andrew Hawkins and his wife Hillary; and her beloved grandchildren Riley, Jaxon, Aubri, Emery, Charlotte, and Jameson. Denise also leaves behind her dear sisters, Peggy Hines Schupp and Teresa D. Hines, along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Denise Hines Hawkins will be remembered for her loving and compassionate nature, always putting others before herself, and for the deep love she shared with her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
