WILMINGTON — Margaret Carmine McLamb, 69, passed away in Wilmington, NC on June 8th, 2026.
Maggie was born in Paris, France on December 19th, 1956, to the late John and Betty Carmine. Her father was in the Air Force, so she had many homes, but she found her forever home in North Carolina. She grew up going to Topsail Beach during the summers and received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from UNCW in 1979.
She discovered her passion for counseling and went on to earn her master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in clinical mental health from Webster University in 2006. She truly found her calling as a healer to many, through counseling and ministry. She worked in organizations that supported prison ministries, abortion recovery, domestic violence, grief, and trauma.
Maggie’s world revolved around her family, especially her 4 grandchildren. She had such a passion for painting, crafting, baking, singing songs, for everything, and Kilwins ice cream.
Maggie met the love of her life, Tony McLamb, in 1983. They were married for 42 years and shared 3 children and all the dogs. Tony and her daughter were by her side as she went to be with the Lord.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents and son, James (Jimmy) Edgar McLamb.
Maggie leaves behind her husband, James Tony McLamb; her children, Joshua Lee McLamb (Cari McLamb) and Savannah McLamb Batchelder (Alexander Batchelder); daughter-in-law, Jessie Singer McLamb; and her grandchildren, Hunter Lillian McLamb, Noah James McLamb, Neiley Carmine Batchelder, and Deliah Goodman Batchelder.
