WILMINGTON — Kris Ann (Huntsman) Exline passed on June 8, 2026, with her husband Dean by her side.
She was born June 26, 1962, in Leipsic, Ohio to Clair and Emilie Huntsman.
She was an excellent swimmer and diver and taught swimming lessons and became a Certified Lifeguard Instructor. She played volleyball for 15 years including playing on the club team at The Ohio State University.
She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education.
She went on to have a career as a teacher in the Columbus Public School system for 14 years. During this time, she met and married Dean Exline.
They had 1 daughter together and relocated to North Carolina where she continued her teaching career in the North Carolina School District for 14 years.
Upon leaving the school system she taught the STEM Education program for The Star Base Program.
Kris loved going on cruises, doing puzzles, watching Hallmark movies, Dog the Bounty Hunter and Garth Brooks. She enjoyed traveling all over the states watching her daughter, Erin, play soccer.
She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father Clair.
She leaves behind husband Dean, Daughter Erin, stepdaughter Nastassja (Cody) Howell, granddaughters Finley and Theo. Mother Emilie Huntsman, brother Brian (Laurence) and Eric Huntsman many nieces and nephews. Special friends Stephanie and Pete Emmert.
She also leaves her fur baby Halie and grand-dog Smokie.

Burial at a later date at the families discretion.
