WILMINGTON — Naomi Devane Melvin, 86, of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 23, 1939, in Bladen County to the late James Hybert Devane and the late Clyde Henry Devane.
Naomi is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Woodell (Bobby), Terria McLeod (William); her son, Todd Melvin (Darlene); her brother, Hybert Devane; her sisters, Kathleen Colvin, Alberta Barbour, Ida Lee; her grandchildren, Robbie, Heather, Jamie, Brandon, Emma, and Ava; and her great grandchildren, Jadah, Samantha, Dalton, Adyson, William, Asher, Amelia, and Sawyer.
In addition to her parents, Naomi was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Melvin; her brother, Robert Thurston Devane; and her nephews, Scottie Richardson and Billy Mishoe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Naomi’s memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
