SOUTHPORT — Laurence Curtis Quinn, affectionately known as Larry, passed away on June 3, 2026, in Southport, North Carolina.
He is the cherished husband of Elizabeth S. Quinn, son of Eunice C. Quinn and Donald R. Quinn (deceased), brother to Richard A. Quinn, and adored companion of canine Miss Heidi. To those closest to Larry, he will be remembered for his honesty, good humor, enduring friendship, and love of family.
Larry was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and spent his formative years in the South Hills (Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair) area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He developed a passion for various sports, most notably golf, which he shared throughout his life with his high school friends.
Graduating from Upper St. Clair High School, Larry attended Penn State University before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Robert Morris University, followed by a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, and thereafter a Master’s Degree in Taxation.
Larry embarked on his professional journey in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by co-founding the accounting firm Quinn/Benz with his father, followed by a later affiliation with Three Rivers Ice Cream.
Pursuing his love of beach life, Larry and Elizabeth retired to the coastal town of Saint James, North Carolina, where he dedicated his time to his family, golf, and his unwavering support for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Larry’s family kindly requests that donations be made to the following organizations in his memory: Lower Cape Fear Life Care, located at 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. Additionally, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protective Services, located at PO Box 92, Supply, NC 28462, is another worthy cause to consider for donations.
