WILMINGTON — Gary Gene Mills, born October 2, 1954, in Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026, at the age of 71 in Oak Island, North Carolina.
Gary dedicated his life to mastering the skillful trade of a Diesel Mechanic, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and clients alike throughout his career. His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering work ethic were hallmarks of his professional life.
A proud member of the Masonic community, Gary was associated with St. Johns Lodge #1 A.F. & A.M. in Wilmington, where he shared bonds of brotherhood and service.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, John Wesley Mills and Nancy Harvell Mills. Gary leaves behind a loving family, including his two devoted brothers, Terry Mills and Mark Mills, along with their families, as well as extended family and cherished friends who will deeply miss his presence.
In accordance with Gary’s wishes, no services are planned. His memory will be held dear in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
