CAROLINA BEACH — It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emery Shane Walker, who departed this life on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the age of 47.
Born on September 11, 1978 in Houston, TX, Shane was a devoted son, brother, father, husband, and friend whose kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty touched the lives of all who knew him. He lived life with determination and generosity, leaving behind countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Shane loved fishing, hunting, traveling, concerts, grilling, gardening, and was dedicated to his family. Whether spending time with loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, pursuing his favorite hobbies, or helping a friend in need, he approached life with enthusiasm and a caring heart. His ability to make others laugh and feel valued was one of his greatest gifts.
He is survived by the love of his life, Shannon Walker; his children, David Walker, Gianna Stubbolo, and Marissa Stubbolo; his favorite aunt, Dina Joy Walker and partner, Bob McCloskey; his siblings, Christopher Bruce Findley and David (Cadillac) Findley; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Hope Walker; his father, Emery Joseph Abshire; his maternal grandmother Barbara Walker; his two uncles, Kevin and Christopher Walker; and two of his best friends Jon Baker and Ito Tinae.
Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on those around him will endure for generations. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 20th at Kindred Weddings and Events (205 Charlotte Ave. Carolina Beach, NC 28428) beginning at 1:30pm. Close friends and family will gather at the family’s home after the celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Tinnitus Association.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
