WILMINGTON — With heavy hearts we share the passing of our dear son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Caleb James Northcott on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the young age of 23.
He was born September 4, 2002, in Wilmington, the beloved son of Jamie and Samantha Barnhill Northcott.
In addition to his parents Caleb is survived by his sister, Brooke Northcott; brother, Trenton Northcott; grandparents, Don Barnhill and Keith Hinkle; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all who loved Caleb.
Preceding Caleb in death are his grandparents, Johnnie Barnhill and Connie Hinkle who welcomed Caleb into his new heavenly home.
Caleb was a graduate of Pender High School and was currently working for American Chrome Company.
Caleb was a homebody who dearly loved his family. He never left home without saying “I love you.” He loved all of his family, but “mama” was special and it showed in his frequent phone calls to Samantha during each day. Caleb had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with his close knit group of friends. What fun they had together. Cat fishing in Black River and baseball were favorite pastimes of Caleb. Caleb’s sunny smile and pleasant spirit will forever be remembered.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Friday, May 1, 2026 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Rev. David Knowles conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral service and at other times will be at the home of granddaddy, Don Barnhill.
Burial will follow in Pridgen Family Cemetery.
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family here.
