WILMINGTON — Jo Alleine Pechart Hamill, 90, of Ligonier, PA, died April 8th 2026 in Wilmington, NC surrounded by family.
She was born July 23, 1935, in Ligonier, PA a daughter of Clarence B. and Azile Ramsey Pechart.
Jo was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and traveling. She made quilts for all her grandchildren. Jo and Charles along with a group of high school friends, loved spending their winters in Florida after their children were raised. She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ in Ligonier PA.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband of 57 years, Charles P. Hamill; an infant son; grandson, Aaron Smithley; sisters, Joy Pechart, Margaret Peer (James), Virginia Rhoads (Floyd), and brother Clarence Pechart (Wilma); brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Kathryn (Hamill) Ramsey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jack and Patricia (Hamill) Morehouse.
She is survived by her daughters; Kathy Hamill and Laura Hamill, both of Wilmington, NC and Stacey Neiderhiser and husband Mark of Ligonier, PA, a son , Jeffrey Hamill of Sanford, FL; son-in-law Kelly Moore; grandchildren: Brett Smithley and wife Raina, Bradley Neiderhiser and wife Lindsey, Ashley Hamill and fiancé Jesse Proctor, and Emily Hamill Justice and husband John; granddaughter in-law, Michaela Reyes Smithley; great grandchildren: Jase, Rylee, Mia Jo, Zachary, Gavin, Isabella, Viviena, Halia, Naia, Kai, Brett William; great great-grandchildren; Christopher, Elijah, Shepherd and Lyla; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harry and Mary Hamill and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
