WILMINGTON — Philip Lee Christopher, born on February 18, 1944, in Mebane, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on April 2, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Philip dedicated over four decades of his life to Dixie Yarns Textile Company in Mebane, where he rose through the ranks to become the manager of shipping and receiving. His commitment and work ethic were evident in his long tenure with the company. After his retirement, Philip embarked on a fulfilling second career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, reflecting his deep care for others.
In his personal life, Philip found joy in simple pleasures. He cherished his time spent at the beach, tending to his garden, and most importantly, being surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, George Christopher and Erma Smith Christopher, his beloved wife Betty Ann Christopher, who passed away on November 6, 2018, and by his sibling and extended family members.
Philip is survived by his three children: Philip Lee Christopher of Graham, NC; Greg Christopher and wife Meagan of Raleigh, NC; and Mary Katherine Christopher of Scotts Hills, NC. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will remember him fondly.
The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date to honor Philip’s memory and celebrate his life.
