WILMINGTON — Carol Lorraine Noris, 96, of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026 at the Davis Community in Wilmington.
Lorraine was born March 19, 1930 in Wannamassa, NJ to Hugo and Caroline Bonk. She spent her entire childhood in Belmar, NJ, where her family was well known throughout the community. She graduated from Asbury Park High School and received her RN from the Monmouth Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
In 1953 she married the love of her life, Eugene Noris, and would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in June. They settled in Oceanport, NJ, where Gene built their family home on the Shrewsbury River and they raised their 3 children Gary, Peter and Carol. There were many fond memories made there either boating on the river or visits to the beach. In 1976 Lorraine and Gene moved to New Hartford, NY. In 1989 they moved to coastal North Carolina where they again made many new friends in Hampstead and Porters Neck Village.
Throughout her life, Lorraine most cherished her roles as Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally. She will forever be deeply missed.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Caroline and Hugo Bonk, brother Richard Bonk, sisters Virginia Maune, Marjorie Casagrande and Jeanne Baldino. She was also predeceased by her beloved daughter Carol Odom and beloved grandson Christopher Noris.
Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years Eugene Noris, son Gary and wife Christy, son Peter and wife Barbara. Also grandchildren Noelle, Brittany, Lindsay and Dale. Also great grandchildren Aiden, Adelina, Jackson, Hadley and James.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
