Brenda Gayle Loper Baker, 84

WILMINGTON — Brenda Gayle Loper Baker, born January 1, 1942, passed peacefully into eternal rest on February 6, 2026, at the age of 84.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy E. Baker, with whom she shared a life built on love, commitment, and faith. Their marriage was a testimony to enduring devotion and partnership.

She was a loving and devoted mother to her son, Jeffery C. Hood, and her daughter, Fawn S. Callie. Her children were her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and supporting them throughout their lives. Her love was steady, sacrificial, and unconditional.

Brenda found great joy in rescuing dogs, opening her home and heart to many animals in need over the years. Her compassion extended to all of God’s creatures. She also loved gardening, carefully tending her flowers and plants and finding peace in watching them grow and bloom. Additionally, she had a special passion for reselling antiques and collectibles, appreciating the history and stories behind each treasured item.

Her home was warm and welcoming and often had the presence of both family and furry companions. She will be remembered for her tenacious spirit, generous heart, unwavering faith, and the comfort she brought to those around her.

Though her family grieves her absence, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, eternal family, and resting in the presence of the Lord. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and devotion will continue to live on through those she loved so dearly.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
