WILMINGTON — Mark A. Newton, born on September 10, 1967, in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mark dedicated many years of his professional life to the field of print management. As an accomplished plant manager and ink chemist, he was known for his expertise and commitment to quality control in various ink projects over his career. His dedication to his work was matched only by his passion for personal interests.
He was an avid animal lover, finding joy in the companionship of his beloved cats and dogs. Mark also cherished his time spent fishing, enjoying the tranquility and challenge it offered. A true sports enthusiast, he had a particular fondness for all sports but was especially devoted to cheering on the University of Michigan Wolverines.
Mark’s educational journey began at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in print management, a foundation that supported his successful career.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jack Grover Newton and Mary Martha DePond Dull. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Tammy Hutcherson Turner, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
In keeping with his wishes, family services will be planned for warmer weather in Michigan, allowing loved ones to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life.
Mark A. Newton will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
