WILMINGTON — Sherry Lynn Martindale, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 57, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on April 20, 1968, in Pinehurst, NC, Sherry was a beacon of love and resilience. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home as a devoted homemaker. Her unwavering commitment to her family and her faith was evident to all who knew her.
Sherry found solace and community at Crosswinds Church in Leland. Her faith carried her through life’s challenges and joys, providing her with strength and comfort. Her ability to inspire and uplift others was one of her greatest gifts.
Her legacy of love lives on through her husband of 36 years, Richard Boyd Martindale, and their cherished children: son Richard Martindale, Jr. and his wife Jasmine, and daughter Alexis M. Perry and her husband Kyle. Sherry’s spirit will also be lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren, Scarlett Kang, Ivy Perry, Kendall Dillahunt, and Abe Martindale, who were the light of her life.
Though Sherry’s time with us was too short, the impact she made on those around her is immeasurable. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on her family and friends, who will carry her memory forward with gratitude and admiration.
Services to celebrate Sherry’s life will be planned for a later date. Her family invites all who knew her to join them in honoring her legacy when the time comes.
