WILMINGTON — Richard Gale Pfeiffer, aged 49, passed away on May 27, 2025, in Wilmington, NC. Born on October 2, 1975, Richard was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Richard pursued his academic interests at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. His professional career saw him working as a Deckhand at Norfolk Tug Company, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Beyond his professional life, Richard had a profound love for music, which brought joy and inspiration to those around him. His passion for music was a testament to his vibrant spirit and creative soul.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard M. Pfeiffer, and his step-mother, Marion (Mimi) Cromney Pfeiffer. Richard leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his mother, Gail P. Tarnacki, and her husband Edward Tarnacki; his sister, Maria G. Killius, and her husband Pavel Killius; his nephew, Aaron T. Spencer; and his sister, Trisha F. Pfeiffer.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, from 5-7 pm at The Satellite Bar and Lounge, located at 120 Greenfield St., Wilmington, NC 28401. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of a remarkable man who touched the hearts of many.
Richard’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
