SOUTHPORT — Lois Catherine Freeman (nee Jasinski), a beloved daughter, sister wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, surrounded by her children. Lois was born in East Orange, New Jersey, to Harold and Genevieve Jasinski along with her three sisters Sr. Patricia Jasinski, Jean Christopher, and Geraldine Basile.

Lois graduated from Clifford Scott HS where she nurtured lifelong friendships. She married her adoring husband William Don Freeman on August 28, 1955, and were married for nearly 59 years. Lois and Don raised their five children in East Orange, New Jersey surrounded by friends and coworkers that truly became family. They later moved to Randolph, New Jersey in 1973 where they remained for 30 years.

A true homemaker, Lois was known for her love of family and knowing how to always make you feel welcome. In addition to raising her family, Lois worked with a caring heart for infants and toddlers at a childcare center for 15 years. In their retirement, Lois and Don moved to Rockaway New Jersey and truly enjoyed family vacations, travel and were immensely proud of their twelve grandchildren. Lois enjoyed being active, including exercise, volunteering, playing cards, gardening, and cooking for her large family. She was affectionately known as Lolo to many and was quick to laugh and had a great sense of humor.

Lois was delighted to move to Southport, along the coast of North Carolina with her daughters and sons-in-law in recent years. Those who knew and loved her, considered her a classy lady who enjoyed spending time at the beach, floating in the ocean or soaking up the warm sunshine with a cold Coors Light, always in a fancy glass.

Lois is predeceased by her loving husband, William Donald Freeman. As well as her parents, Harold and Genevieve Jasinski and her sister, Sr. Patricia Jasinski. She is survived by her children Don, wife Marianne Freeman, Nancy, husband Chuck Caltagirone, Rich, wife Pam Freeman, Patty, husband Larry Rehmer and Kelly, husband Buckley Andrews. Her twelve grandchildren include Christopher, wife Lauren Freeman, Patrick Freeman, David, wife Krystle Freeman, Katie, husband Ryan Coker, Charles, wife Afrin Caltagirone, Philip Caltagirone, Matthew Freeman, Michael Freeman, Brian Rehmer, wife Haley Rehmer, Brooke Rehmer, Gavin Andrews, and Samuel Andrews. She was also blessed with four great grandchildren, Benjamin Freeman, Beau Freeman, Odyn Freeman, and Emma Coker, along with many nieces and nephews.

A family mass to celebrate her life will be held later this year in Sparta New Jersey, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Don.
