WILMINGTON — Jerry D. Mullins, born on September 1, 1945, in Monticello, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 79.
Throughout his life, Jerry embraced several careers, including owning a truss manufacturing business in Florida. His work was characterized by dedication and a keen entrepreneurial spirit, reflecting his ability to adapt and succeed in varied pursuits.
Jerry’s personal life was rich with love and joy. As a devoted husband to Karen (Sutton) Mullins for 40 wonderful years, he embodied the true spirit of partnership and companionship.
A man full of fun, Jerry was known for his infectious laughter and warm hugs, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. One of his greatest joys was fishing, an activity that allowed him moments of peace and reflection amidst nature’s beauty.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Marvel (Brewer) Mullins. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; his siblings; and many nieces and nephews who cherished his presence in their lives. He was one of six children, part of a family that shared countless memories and bonds that transcended time.
In honoring Jerry’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
