LELAND — Jean J. Del Vecchio, a beloved mother, friend, and resident of Leland, NC, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on August 7, 1938, in Passaic, NJ, Jean spent many years in the bustling Garden State before finding her tranquil haven along the Carolina coast.
Jean dedicated many years of her life working as a secretary for various businesses, including her family’s body shop. Her attention to detail and unwavering dedication were evident in everything she did, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
After leaving New Jersey, Jean embraced the coastal beauty and gentle weather of North Carolina. She enjoyed the serene beaches and found joy in her new community, making cherished friendships through activities at Westgate Senior Apartments. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of those around her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
Jean is preceded in death by her loving parents, Frank and Julia (Warcholik) Michleski. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in her surviving family: daughters Kathryn Scerbo and Doris Del Vecchio, and son Michael Del Vecchio. They, along with her friends and all who knew her, will forever hold her memory close.
Honoring Jean’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
