WILMINGTON — Betty Jo Fowler, a cherished soul devoted to God and her family, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in her hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on August 2, 1964, also in Wilmington, Betty lived a life immersed in the love and warmth of those she held dearest. She was 60 years old.
Betty’s life was deeply anchored by her profound love for her family. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering presence provided a foundation of strength and unity. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, leaving behind enduring memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Wayne Fowler, Sr.; her son, Leo Johnson; her granddaughter, Riley Johnson; and her brother, Tommy Fowler, Jr. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who remain, yet her spirit continues to shine brightly through them.
Surviving Betty are her beloved mother, Mary Ruth Fowler of Wilmington, NC; her devoted children, Megan Brown and fiancé Dustin Johnson of Hampstead, NC, and her son Daniel Bordeaux and wife Lauren of Timberlake, NC. She also leaves behind her loving brother, Michael Fowler and wife Stephanie of Wilmington, NC; as well as her treasured grandchildren, Sierra, Dallas, Sky, Emily, Kaylee, and Braxton. Countless nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family also mourn her passing with heavy hearts.
A celebration of Betty’s beautiful life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation, located at 1535 South 41st Street, Wilmington, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of her enduring legacy of love and kindness.
