WILMINGTON — Terrance “Terry” Fred Tracy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday April 20, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on February 3, 1959, in Wilmington, North Carolina, Terry spent his life surrounded by the people and places he loved.
A retired auto mechanic and former owner of AutoWorks, Inc., Terry was known for his skilled hands and dedication to his craft. He took immense pride in his work, treating each vehicle as if it were his own. His career was a testament to the hard work and perseverance that defined his character.
Outside of work, Terry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep passion for fishing and cherished his time on the ocean waters. Those who knew him could often find him with a line cast into the sea or relaxing to the soothing melodies of Jimmy Buffett.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Bobbie Fred Tracy, and his brother, Ernest Tracy.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Frankie Godwin Tracy; his devoted wife, Terrie Carter Tracy; sons Eric Duaine Tracy and Terrance Fred Tracy, Jr.; daughter Lauren Tracy and her husband Matt; brothers Tony, Gary and Steven Tracy and his treasured grandchildren, Jaxen Tracy, and Carolina and Fynn Benbow.
Terry’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
