WILMINGTON — John Fellows Roche, a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 90. Born on October 3, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI, John lived a life marked by dedication to his work, family, and community.

John pursued his education with vigor, studying at Stanford University and Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. His career as an Industrial Engineer and later in Hospital Management was distinguished by his 37-year tenure with SunHealth, where he made significant contributions to the field.

Beyond his professional achievements, John was an active member of the Wrightsville United Methodist Church congregation, serving faithfully as an usher. He found joy in playing tennis, traveling, cooking, and solving crosswords and puzzles. His commitment to service extended to supporting Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity, reflecting his generous spirit and desire to give back to the community.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Roche. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Moser, and her husband, Mark Moser; his son, Greg Roche, and his wife, Nicole; and his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Manders, Ian Moser, Parker Roche, and Shelby Roche. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Bill Harrison, and his wife, Loretta.

John E. Roche will be remembered for his warmth, integrity, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His legacy will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
