ROCKY POINT — Rebecca T. Sears, 93, of Rocky Point, NC went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2025.
She was born in Rocky Mount, (Nash County), NC on December 2, 1931, daughter to Sandy Turner and Gertie Cartrett Turner. Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband Charles Sears (C.L.); oldest son, Richard Sears; youngest son, Calvin Sears and her brothers and sisters.
It is with great sadness that announce the passing of Rebecca Sears. At the passing age of 93 she lived a simple but a good life. She and CL love traveling. One of their enjoyments were to find random hotels and share this experience with her family. She continued traveling after the passing of her husband with her grandchildren.
Some of her hobbies were shopping and gardening. She loved looking for shoes, especially when they were on sale. Gardening and yardwork was one of her soothing hobbies. Some of her favorite plants were gardenias, sweet Betsy and snowball bushes. She also enjoyed listening to her wind chimes on the front porch. She enjoyed having family over for July 4th. Fireworks made her happy as much as Christmas lights. She said her youngest granddaughter, Abigail and Buddy was her heart. Having her other grandchildren visit with her always made her happy.
Grandma will be dearly missed by those that knew her and loved her. However it’s not goodbye it’s see you later, alligator!!!
Rebecca is survived by her granddaughters; Chenoa Sears Mitchell (Christopher) and Shannon Sears; great grandchildren: Michael Christian Sears, Bethany Hallock (Justin), Hayley Dubose, Abigail Mitchell, Spencer Mitchell and Kathlynn Mitchell.
