Bobbie Nobles Skipper, 91

Bobbie Nobles Skipper (Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park)

WILMINGTON — It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Bobbie Christine Nobles Harper Skipper. She passed away on Saturday April 5, 2025, at the bright young age of 91 surrounded by her family.

Mama was born in Columbus County NC on October 9, 1933, to parents Edward Duvall Nobles Sr. and Rosa Watts Nobles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six older siblings, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Charles B. Harper Sr as well as second husband, William E. Skipper and granddaughter Christie Sessoms. She retired from Wilmington Printing Company as Production Manager on March 9, 1999.

“Mama”, “Grannie” and” Aunt Bobbie”, as she was affectionately known by many, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the honor and privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and an unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her. Her greatest joy in life came from her family. The love she had for her children was unconditional and without bounds but the joy in her face when the grandbabies came into the room was priceless. It was only equaled or maybe surpassed when her grandbabies started having babies. Grandbabies, Great Grandbabies and Great-Great Grandbabies brought her endless happiness and a twinkle in her eyes.

Left to cherish her memory are 5 children, Ron Harper (Fonda), Tina Monk, Chuck Harper (Judy), Don Harper (Dianne) and Sandra Anderson. To truly carry on her legacy, she leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Amanda Bradley, Katy Lineberry, Brianna Houston, Mikayla Monk, Brittany Bowen, Cody Harper, Doug Jordan, Gina Balcomb, Samantha Daughtery, Brooke Hazel, Cheryl Parker as well 20 great grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

We wish to say a special thanks to all who helped care for Mama at home when her health started to decline and an additional special thanks to the staff at Angel House Hospice Care Center in Whiteville NC who made her final days on earth as comfortable as possible.
