WILMINGTON — Stephen A. Matyasovski, Jr., born on January 12, 1953, in Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 72.
Stephen dedicated many years of his professional life to the plastics industry, where he excelled in Customer Service and Technical Sales. His commitment to his work was matched by his passion for hobbies outside his career. Stephen had a love for auto racing and found great joy in cooking for family and friends, whether it was for small gatherings or larger celebrations.
Community service was also important to Stephen. He was a volunteer firefighter in his hometown of Wallington for 15 years before moving to Morris County. He also served multiple terms on the church council of Zion Lutheran Church in Garfield, NJ, and participated in community service opportunities there, such as monthly meals for those who needed them, and packing snack packs for local school children through the Center for Food Action.
Stephen was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Stephen A. Matyasovski, Sr. and Jennie (Sekelsky) Matyasovski. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline (Johnson) Matyasovski, and their two cherished sons.
Stephen will be remembered as a man who valued family and friendship, and whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
