WILMINGTON — Holly Harris Raynor, 51, of Wilmington, NC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2025 after a courageous 3+ year battle with Glioblastoma.

She was born on April 5 th , 1973 in Concord, NC, to Dallas Harris and Deanna Saylor, and spent the first few years of her life living on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. She and her family eventually moved to Wrightsville Beach, NC in the late 1970’s, where she was raised until adulthood. After college, Holly and her husband settled in the Ogden area, raised a family and lived life to the fullest. Holly loved her family, music and the beach, preferably all three at once.

She faced every challenge with apositive attitude and a no-quit determination. Her long battle with brain cancer inspired many people over her journey, including family, friends and even her neuro-oncology team. The outpouring of prayers and support are deeply appreciated.

Holly is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 32 years, Alton Raynor Jr, and their two adult sons, Jacob Raynor and Garrett Raynor, her aforementioned parents, stepmother Miroslava Harris, brother Ben Harris (Barbara), sister Sofia Harris, nephew Adam Nash (Hannah), niece, Kassiani Harris, an uncle, Roy Harris (Alice), an aunt, Teresa Harter (Mark), and sister-in-law, Angela Ray (Tommie), who has been instrumental in her loving care every day of the last 3 years.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the doctors, physician assistants, nurses and other support staff of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University in Durham, NC, for outstanding care, empathy and friendship provided to Holly over the last three years. The family would also like to extend deepest gratitude to Angela and Alice for their years of help in the home, with Holly’s daily care.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Leland, located at 517 Village Road, Leland, NC. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 PM, preceding the service.
