WILMINGTON — Elvina Earl Alexander, age 96, passed gently from her earthly life Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove in Wilmington.
She was born on December 15, 1928, in Bladen County, the daughter of Roscoe Barnhill and Ruby Pearl Savage Barnhill. In addition to her parents, Elvina was preceded in death by her brother, Buck Barnhill and sister, Ivey “Skeeter” Barnhill.
Elvina retired from SunTrust Bank after working for many years as the Human Resource Officer.
Elvina was a joyful, fun loving lady who always looked on the bright side and found something good in every situation. Her love for the Lord and steadfast Christian faith was evident in the life that she lived and an inspiration to many. She was the best sister anyone could ask for. Elvina was dearly loved and cared for as she grew old. Her presence on this earth will be missed.
She is survived by her sisters, Wanda Bayles and Shelby Whitfield (Willie); brother, Donald Barnhill (Pansy) and Tony Barnhill; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Barnhill Cemetery in Ivanhoe with Rev. Jerome Bullard conducting the service.
