HAMPSTEAD — Ruby Jaynes Winstead, aged 88, peacefully passed away on February 26, 2025, in Hampstead, North Carolina. Born on July 6, 1936, in Union Mills, North Carolina, she lived a long and fulfilling life.
Ruby had a long career with Square D Electrical Company, where she devoted 25 years of service. She made many friends there over the years.
Surviving her are her daughters, Helen M. Frady and husband, Jon Butcher of Chapel Hill, NC and Donna McBride-Henderson and husband, David of Hampstead, NC, two brothers, Bill Jaynes of Forest City, NC and Roy Jaynes of Rutherfordton, NC; three grandchildren, Kristen Henderson, Stephen Henderson and Lucy Butcher.
Her unwavering spirit of warmth touched the hearts of everyone she met. Ruby’s strong will and “can do” spirit inspired those around her. Her life had many twists and turns and she survived them all.
Though no formal services are planned per her wish. Ruby’s memory will be honored and celebrated in the hearts of all who knew her.
